California – Shasta County: Realignment To Have Big Impact On County Jails

When Governor Brown’s budget passed in June, it had a provision that greatly changed the way county jails operate in California. It’s called Assembly Bill 109 or The Prison Re-alignment bill which is set to take effect October 1st. Counties will see many of the people they sent to prison, return to local jails.
