FBI arrests California lawyer and police officer on bribery charges

By VIK JOLLY – THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER – Published: June 6, 2011 SANTA ANA – A criminal defense attorney from Mission Viejo and a Rialto police officer pleaded not guilty Monday to federal bribery charges after a grand jury indictment. Lawrence Anthony Witsoe, 67, and officer Aaron Scott Vigil, 41, of Highland, were arrested by FBI special agents Monday and appeared in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana. Magistrate Judge Robert Block set bail at $5,000 each for the two, who were named in a three-count indictment unsealed earlier in the day.
