Sacramento’s Latest Anti-2A Push: SB 948 Targets Lawful Gun Owners. Again.

After a relatively quiet start to the legislative session—perhaps in part due to California’s ongoing budget deficit crisis, the lull in anti-Second Amendment proposals was short-lived.

In the latest episode of CRPA TV, California Rifle & Pistol Association Legislative Director Rick Travis breaks down SB 948, Sacramento’s newest attempt to burden lawful firearm owners with unrealistic and costly regulatory requirements.

As discussed in the episode, SB 948 follows a familiar pattern: complex compliance mandates that risk turning responsible gun owners into “accidental criminals” for minor or technical violations. These regulatory schemes do nothing to enhance public safety while significantly increasing the difficulty of lawful firearm ownership in California. And that’s their plan.

This bill must be stopped.

Advocacy works—but only when the community engages. Through grassroots action, chapter involvement, and CRPA’s One Click Politics system, Californians can make their voices heard and push back against overreaching legislation.
